2 Technical description of the power supply
2.1 Purpose
The device is designed to power the JO-96 deionising electrode and constitutes with it a complete deioniser enabling the neutralisation of electrostatic charges. It is characterised by high operating efficiency. The output current is limited below 1 mA to ensure safe operation. The power supply is designed for continuous operation.
2.2 Construction
The power supply is built as a single-acting transistor inverter. It is supplied with reduced voltage and has an isolated generation coil from the high-voltage output coil. The operating frequency is approximately 1.2 kHz.
2.3 Installation instructions
The appliance is supplied from a mains voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz. The power supply unit must be neutralised or earthed via a conductor in the power cable in accordance with the protection system used on the machine with which it operates. In addition, it is desirable to connect the power supply housing to the machine body. The power supply must be connected to the electrode by a special high voltage cable. This cable should not touch directly the conductive parts of the machine, so it is desirable to run it in an additional insulating shield.
3 Use
The appliance is switched on using the instantaneous switch. The indicator light should then illuminate. Once every 24 hours, or at least once a week if there is little dust, the machine should be vacuumed with compressed air or a soft brush with long bristles, paying particular attention to the electrode and the high-voltage cable. Once every three months, check the attachment of the power pack, its connection to the machine body, the condition of the w. n. cable grommet, inspect the high-voltage cable and any secondary cover for cracks or punctures. In case of damage, it is best to have it repaired by the manufacturer. We recommend periodical (e.g. quarterly) check-ups by TOM-FOL SERVIS employees.
